About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Child and Family Counsellor to join our team. In this role, you will work with children and young people (0–18) who have experienced trauma and provide individual therapy, family therapy, and group-based support.
You will be part of a new specialist Anchor counselling model designed to recognize children as victims in their own right and provide them with longer-term, trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individual therapy, family therapy, and group-based support to children and young people.
* Engage with parents to help strengthen the parent-child relationship and reduce chronic stress and trauma symptoms.
* Deliver long-term trauma-informed therapy for children and young people impacted by domestic violence.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
* Experience working therapeutically with children, young people, and/or parents.
* An understanding of child protection issues and trauma-informed practice.
