Disability Support Workers are needed to join our kind, caring and compassionate community team who are actively committed to promoting choice, control and quality of life for our clients.
We offer a diverse range of casual shifts that start as early as 7am, seven days a week. As a valued member of our team, your mission is to deliver exceptional, person-centered care, elevating the lives of our disability clients within the warmth and familiarity of their own homes.
A Day in the Life
Providing support to NDIS participants living in the community involves travelling to multiple clients per day and providing support in their own homes. Your role encompasses a wide spectrum of responsibilities, including personal care, cooking and meal preparation, domestic tasks, dependable transport services, and social support to empower clients to actively engage in community activities.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience and be able to provide evidence of the following requirements:
* Caring and compassionate nature
* Experience in working with children (preferred but not essential)
* Willingness to work short 2-3 hour shifts over multiple clients when required
* Willing to travel 20-30km per shift
* The ability to prepare and cook a variety of meals for clients
* Fluent in English (speaking and understanding)
* Experience with documentation and client care notes
* Understanding of disability / mental health support
* Experience with single person hoist (essential)
* Experience with Dysphagia
* Experience with PEG feeding (essential)
* Multiple shift availability
* Vehicle service log book
* Australian Driver's Licence
* Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* NDIS Orientation
* Working with Children Check
* Current First Aid and CPR (Essential)
* Current Manual Handling (in-house training provided)
* Evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations and current Influenza vaccination
