Job Title: Aboriginal Community Support Worker
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Community Support Worker.
Key Responsibilities
* Build trust and rapport with families, children, and young people from diverse backgrounds.
* Collaborate with other agencies to develop and implement effective support plans.
* Conduct home visits to assess needs and provide tailored assistance.
* Develop safety plans and risk assessments to ensure the well-being of clients.
* Manage complex cases and situations, including high-needs and high-risk individuals.
* Participate in court processes and prepare documents for presentation.
* Engage in regular supervision and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
This role requires a deep understanding of cultural diversity and the ability to work sensitively with vulnerable populations. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Requirements
* A relevant diploma or degree is highly regarded.
* Applicants without a qualification require at least two years' experience working with children, young people, and families.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for building positive relationships with the Aboriginal community.
* A valid driver's license is necessary for travel between locations.
* A current Working with Children clearance number is required.
