Well-established manufacturing business in South-East Melbourne is seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Welder for a full-time, permanent workshop role.
This is not production-line or repetitive work – you will own custom fabrication jobs from start to finish on static bins, hoppers, safety cages and similar one-off or small-run items.
You'll join a small, stable team in a structured, safety-first environment with clear daily planning, good leadership and genuine pride in workmanship.
Key responsibilities:
* Custom heavy fabrication and welding (mig, flux-core, stick as required)
* Cutting, grinding, mechanical fitting and assembly
* Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings accurately
* Conducting quality checks and ensuring high-standard finishes
* Maintaining excellent housekeeping and strict safety compliance
Hours & Pay (Manufacturing EBA – C10 rate):
* Base rate: $45.38 per hour
* Regular overtime: typically 5+ hours per week – First 2 hours @ time-and-a-half – After that @ double time
* Optional Saturday work available (usually 5-hour shift @ penalty rates)
* All PPE supplied including full air-fed welding helmet system
* Immediate start available for the right person
About you:
* Trade qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator (cert III Engineering – Fabrication)
* Proven experience in custom or jobbing fabrication (not just production welding)
* Strong drawing interpretation skills and ability to work independently
* Non-negotiable commitment to safety and quality
