About The Role
The Department for Education is committed to ensuring the best educational outcomes for children and young people in South Australia. The department is implementing a range of reforms to improve the educational opportunities for every south Australian child and to better meet the needs of the South Australian community. Pivotal to these reforms is the department’s intent to deliver high performing, world-class information and communication services. The Digital Platforms team is looking to revamp existing business systems and processes into streamlined user-friendly workflows that allow for simplified configuration and seamless integrations.
The Senior Business Analyst plays a key role within the Digital Platforms team, overseeing the development and implementation of various user experience journey reforms. These initiatives will guide critical strategic decisions on the future delivery of services to corporate offices, schools, and preschools, benefiting staff across the state. The Digital Platforms team will look to capture and challenge the current business processes, with the aim of simplifying user experiences, delivering streamlined processes and procedures whilst aligning information systems with current ICT strategic objectives and industry standards.
Working within this context, the Senior Business Analyst will deliver a thorough business and technical analysis of multiple existing systems and journeys, including associated processes and systems and the potential benefits, impacts and opportunities in transitioning to a new system and service provider. The role will produce detailed user journey maps, business and technical process mapping, specifications and requirements for both current and future systems via discovery processes. They will also be working closely with project business and technical analyst staff, business and technical subject matter experts, potential vendors and external service providers in several specialised streams to ultimately deliver a unified options analysis in accordance with the project plan and schedule.
Qualifications
Essential: Nil
Desirable: Degree or other qualification in information technology/business or relevant industry.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO7 $108,109 - 116,864 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
