Randstad is proud to partner with a leading government organisation seeking a proactive Media and Government Relations Advisor for a 6-month contract to support external communication and engagement activities.
Pay Rate: $68 per hour + super Contract Length: 6 months Location: Footscray, flexible working arrangement The Role Reporting to the Team Leader of Government Relations and Media, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing the organisation's reputation.
You will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and effective communication materials across both media and government channels.
Key Responsibilities: Media Management: Assist with media monitoring, reporting, and the coordination of media activities.
Content Development: Draft and edit high-quality content for media, social media, and other corporate channels in line with brand standards.
Government Relations: Prepare correspondence, briefing materials, and responses to Ministerial and MP enquiries.
Crisis Reputation: Apply critical and strategic thinking to all communications and emerging issues to support organisational priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong records and liaise with Ministers' offices and government departments regarding media and event opportunities.
About You We are looking for a communications professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a proven track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships.
Required Skills Experience: Experience: Previous experience in a media, communications, or similar role is essential.
Government Expertise: Demonstrated experience working within or closely with a government agency.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of media management, social media, and corporate communication principles.
Crisis Management: Ability to apply strategic thinking to sensitive communication issues and manage multiple tight deadlines.
Communication: Exceptional drafting skills with the ability to create clear, accurate content for diverse audiences.
Qualifications: A degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
