If you are thinking 'YES!' then this is the role for you. Our Client, a household name in the frozen food sector, is seeking two Permanent Maintenance Fitters to join their Altona facility.
The Roster: Quality Time Guaranteed
Forget the 12-hour grinds and the constant pressure to work late. This role is built for the professional who values their life outside of work. We are looking for people who want to commit long-term to a stable, permanent position.
* Day Shift: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm ($50–$55/hr)
* Afternoon Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (Base + 15% Shift Loading)
* The Reality: Very little OT. You do your 8 hours and you go home. No dramas, just a solid day's work for great pay.
The Role: Mechanical Precision
As a member of the permanent maintenance team, you won't just be "putting out fires." You will be responsible for the mechanical integrity of a high-speed, automated production environment:
* The Gear: Get hands-on with industrial mixers, high-speed conveyors, and automated palletisers.
* Maintenance Focus: Manage both preventative programs and rapid-response troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
* Long-Term Focus: Our client has plenty of casuals—they are now looking for the "backbone" of the team—people who want to grow with the site and stay for years.

What we need from you:
* Trade Qualification: CTIII in Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
* Industry Experience: Ideally, you have experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or a similar high-speed FMCG environment.
* Diagnostic Skills: Ability to fault‐find and troubleshoot automated machinery (conveyors, palletisers, etc.).
* The Mindset: You are looking for a permanent role. We want people who are ready to settle into a team and contribute to a positive site culture.
* Location: Ideally based in Melbourne's West for an easy commute to Altona.
