Teaching Role Description/Criteria
MacKillop Education is a Catholic Specialist P-12 School comprising three campuses: Geelong, Maidstone, and Caulfield. It caters to children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to MacKillop often have a history of or ongoing experience with trauma, and their needs are complex and diverse. Self-regulation can be challenging for our students, which may result in challenging social and emotional behaviors.

Are you passionate about inclusive education and eager to transform lives through learning? We are seeking a Learning Diversity Teacher who brings heart, innovation, and expertise to the classroom and beyond. In this vital role, you will design and deliver engaging learning programs tailored to each student's unique needs, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
Whether leading a class or working one-on-one, you will create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where students can succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. You will collaborate with our Learning & Teaching leaders to develop trauma-informed, responsive education programs for students who have faced significant life challenges, including trauma, abuse, or neglect. Your work will be instrumental in helping them reconnect with learning and reach their full potential.
Partnering with our Wellbeing team, you will support students in building confidence, developing emotional resilience, and enhancing social skills—paving the way for lasting change in their educational journey and beyond.

Key Selection Criteria
* A four-year teaching qualification or equivalent and eligibility for Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
* Demonstrated understanding of and experience in implementing aspirational initiatives in student learning, informed by the Victorian Curriculum
* Experience in designing, delivering, and assessing programs for diverse and complex learners, including those with learning difficulties and challenging behaviors
* Ability to work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues to improve program quality and student outcomes
