Our client is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting excellence in resource sector education and development.
They are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join their Board as a Volunteer Treasurer, contributing financial expertise to support the organisation's strategic growth, governance, and long-term impact.
The primary role is to provide financial oversight, governance support, and strategic financial advice to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability, accountability, and integrity.
The Opportunity
This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role within a purpose-driven organisation. You will work closely with the Chair, CEO, Board, Finance Sub-Committee, and contracted bookkeeper to support strong financial governance and strategic decision‐making.

The Tasks Ahead:
* Attend Board meetings (approximately six per year) and participate in Finance Sub-Committee meetings as required
* Provide oversight of financial performance, cash flow, financial controls, and risk management
* Review financial reports, budgets, and performance against strategic priorities
* Lead the preparation and presentation of financial reports to the Board and at the Annual General Meeting
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‐term financial planning aligned with the organisation's strategy
* Oversee financial compliance, including audits, statutory filings, taxation obligations, and insurance requirements
* Provide strategic financial advice to support informed Board and organisational decision‐making
About You
You are a financially skilled and collaborative professional with experience in financial oversight, governance, and reporting. You bring a strong understanding of financial management, ideally within a not-for-profit environment, and are confident contributing to Board‐level discussions.
You are committed to supporting purpose‐led organisations and are motivated by contributing to the growth and impact of the resource sector.

Key Requirements
* Strong experience in financial reporting, oversight, and compliance
* Demonstrated budget management and financial control experience
* Ability to provide strategic financial advice to support organisational growth
* Previous Board or governance experience (highly desirable)
* Experience working collaboratively with Boards, CEOs, and external financial advisors
* Strong commitment to the values and purpose of the organisation
