About the Role
You'll be responsible for administering and optimising a complex mix of cloud-hosted and on-premises PABX systems, DECT, and a range of smart devices used by clinical and operational teams.
A key focus of this position is the consolidation of multiple cloud telephony providers into a single, scalable platform, helping the organisation simplify operations and improve service reliability across all sites.
Beyond telephony, you'll also play a supporting role across nurse call, CCTV, security systems, and general IT support as part of a collaborative IT Operations team.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing, implementing, and managing telecommunication systems across a large, complex multi-site environment
Managing both cloud and on-prem PABX platforms, including Access4 (Broadsoft) and NEC Univerge
Leading telephony migration projects into cloud-hosted environments
Monitoring system performance and conducting preventative maintenance, including relevant security patching
Troubleshooting and resolving telephony issues or working with external providers to ensure maximum uptime
Keeping detailed system records and documentation up to date
Staying across new releases, features, and innovations, and implementing improvements where agreed
Maintaining vendor relationships and working closely with internal IT teams
Providing support across related technologies such as nurse call, CCTV, access control systems, laptops/desktops, and other end-user technology
What You'll Bring
5+ years' experience managing diverse telephony environments (cloud, on-premises, hosted, hybrid)
Hands-on experience with Access4 (Broadsoft) and NEC Univerge
Proven experience delivering migrations to cloud-hosted telephony platforms
Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, H.323, PBX systems, and unified communications technologies
Experience working with telecom hardware including PBX, DECT, intercoms, routers, switches, and gateways
Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, MPLS, SD-WAN, QoS, firewalls)
Relevant industry certifications
Clear communication skills and excellent documentation habits
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Exposure to aged care, healthcare, or other complex multi-site environments is desirable
Experience with complementary systems like nurse call, CCTV, and access control
