Are you currently studying IT and looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, real-world environment? Alder Group is seeking a Part-Time IT Support Officer (approx. 3 days per week) to join our team and support our growing commercial construction business. This flexible role is ideal for a student eager to apply their knowledge while learning on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide Level 1 technical support to staff across hardware, software, and mobile devices.
* Assist with onboarding/offboarding, account setup, and user access management.
* Support purchasing, setup, delivery, and tracking of IT assets including laptops, printers, and modems.
* Maintain accurate records of IT assets, warranties, and purchases.
* Assist with basic training and create documentation for common IT issues.
* Help maintain systems, perform updates, and monitor performance.
* Assist with network infrastructure, wireless connectivity, and mobile service management.
* Contribute to data security efforts, including audits, incident reporting, and compliance.
* Support IT projects and collaborate with the ICT team to implement solutions.
* Participate in committees and working groups to support continuous improvement.
About You:
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a staff-focused approach.
* Experience in a similar IT support or help desk role or currently studying IT or related field
* Familiarity with Windows environments, mobile device management, and basic networking.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
* A current driver’s licence is required for occasional hardware deliveries and site visits.
