The Role
As a Vineyard Hand, you'll be responsible for maintaining tractor operations, conducting foliar and weed spraying, machine and hand pruning, grape harvesting, slashing, vine training, trellis repair, and assisting with irrigation maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain tractor operations and manage vineyard machinery.
* Conduct foliar and weed spraying using sprayers and other vineyard equipment.
* Perform both machine and hand pruning to ensure healthy vine growth.
* Assist with grape harvesting, ensuring efficient and timely collection.
* Carry out slashing to maintain vineyard appearance and health.
* Train and manage vine growth to support optimal crop yield.
* Repair and maintain trellises to ensure vine support structures are in good condition.
* Assist with irrigation maintenance to support proper water distribution.
Requirements
* An appreciation for precision viticulture and its importance in producing high-quality wines.
* Experience in tractor and/or harvester operations, manual and machine pruners, sprayers, and other vineyard implements.
* Equipment maintenance including servicing and repairs to vineyard equipment.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work with limited supervision.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Impeccable safety standards with a chemical handler's certificate (preferred).
* High-risk forklift license (preferred).
