Clinical Nurse Specialist - Remote | WA Country Health Service

Permanent full time position at 80 hours per fortnight.

Position Overview

Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team within a primary healthcare framework in partnership with the community and other organisations, providing planned, coordinated and comprehensive primary health and emergency care to families and individuals of that community.

To Be Successful You Will Have

- Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Primary Health Care and Community Development.
- Broad nursing experience with recent accident and emergency skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a remote Aboriginal community or cross‑cultural setting.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Well developed problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Pharmacology competency or working towards same.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other “similar” vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
