Join a global Defence partner in an essential role supporting the Simulation Labs. As an Infrastructure Systems Administrator, you will be important to the stability, security, and scalability of important simulation environments. This role is based on-site at Garden Island, Sydney.
Role
Over the first 12 months, your focus will be on hardening system security, automating routine administration, and ensuring seamless integration between simulation software and hardware. You will work across a dual-environment of Windows Server 2022 and RHEL 8, ensuring all systems meet healthcare-level or cyber compliance standards.
Requirements
* Security Clearance: An available Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) is a non-negotiable, essential requirement.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years of systems administration in medium-to-large IT environments.
* Technical Background: Experienced in multi-platform (Windows/Linux) environments.
* Qualifications: Tertiary IT qualification or industry certs such as MCSA, RHCSA, VCP, CCNA, or Fortinet NSE 4+.
Responsibilities
* Infrastructure Management: Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
* Virtualization: Expertise with Hyper‐V and VMware clusters.
* Network Security: Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches/routers and FortiGate firewalls, specifically managing VLANs, VPNs, and multicast traffic.
* Automation: Streamline operations through high proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting.
* Business Continuity: Manage robust disaster recovery via Veeam Backup & Replication.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain hybrid Windows Server 2022 and RHEL 8 environments.
* Optimize Hyper‐V/VMware clusters and manage Veeam disaster recovery.
* Harden Cisco and FortiGate infrastructure to Defence standards.
* Administer Active Directory and Group Policy.
* Automate operations via PowerShell and Bash scripting.
* Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for simulation architectures.
