Salary range: $74,667 to $76,699 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.
About the role
This role contributes to the success of the City by supporting the effective delivery of planning, facility booking, and statutory services. The Senior Business Support Officer coordinates key processes, ensures legislative compliance, and provides high-quality customer service. The role also contributes to corporate improvement initiatives through data management, reporting, and process enhancement.
Role accountabilities include:
- Coordinating public notification processes for planning and major development applications.
- Managing seasonal sportsground allocations and bookings for events and activities.
- Supporting statutory services under the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 and the Local Government Act 1993.
- Leading and initiating project teams to facilitate change and process improvement.
- Maintaining databases, producing reports, and implementing processes to meet corporate, divisional, and statutory requirements.
- Conducting detailed research of Council records to disclose information required under relevant legislation.
- Providing expert advice and high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
You are a proactive and detail-oriented qualified with a strong understanding of local government operations, particularly in regulatory and statutory service areas. You are capable of managing competing priorities and are committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
You will bring:
- A Certificate IV in Business Administration, Frontline Management or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work within established policies and statutory frameworks.
- Initiative and sound judgment in responding to a wide range of enquiries.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
- A demonstrated ability to self-reflect and uphold organisational values and behavioural standards.
