Salter Brothers Hospitality is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team in a permanent part time capacity - 3 days per week. As a vital member of our People and Payroll team, you'll play a pivotal role in processing all payrolls centrally for the group and providing essential support with payroll queries from both team members and leadership. This role will be based at our Salter Brothers Hospitality Central Services, conveniently located in Fortitude Valley.
Salter Brothers Hospitality currently operates 19 retreat hotels and estates; more than 29 restaurants and bars; 8 Spa Anise spas and other wellness facilities.
The role and key duties;
* Process all payrolls centrally for the Salter Brothers Hospitality group;
* Provide support and guidance on payroll queries from team members and leadership;
* Ensure compliance with state and federal legislation related to tax, superannuation, long service leave, and National Employment Standards;
* Demonstrate strong attention to detail to maintain payroll accuracy;
* Participate in payroll-related projects as required.
Essential criteria required to be considered:
* Experience in a similar role with end‑to‑end payroll processing within a medium to large business, ideally from within the hospitality industry;
* Confident with NES and interpretation of the Hospitality (HIGA) award;
* Understanding of state and federal legislation related to payroll and employment;
* Experience using Employment Hero (preferred but not essential);
* A people‑first approach, with the ability to respond to payroll queries clearly, professionally, and with empathy, supporting team members and leaders across the group;
* Advanced computer skills;
* High attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills.
