About the Opportunity
An established criminal law practice based in Southport is seeking a personable and driven solicitor to join its New Client Intake Team.
This position is tailored for a recently admitted solicitor who not only understands criminal and traffic law, but also brings life experience, confidence in communication, and an ability to build rapport with people quickly.
As the first point of contact for new enquiries, you will be responsible for providing preliminary legal advice and converting leads into clients, ensuring that every person who reaches out receives clarity, reassurance, and a seamless transition into the firm's care.

Key Responsibilities
* Respond to incoming client enquiries relating to criminal and traffic law matters.
* Provide preliminary legal advice and triage support to determine client needs.
* Build rapport, explain services clearly, and convert enquiries into new matters.
* Work from our Southport office using a modern cloud-based phone and CRM system.
* Support the legal team by ensuring new clients are properly briefed and onboarded.
* Maintain accurate records and take ownership of the intake process from first contact to conversion.

About You
* You are an admitted solicitor in Queensland (minimum requirement).
* You have at least 1 year of post-admission experience (or similar relevant exposure).
* The 1 year experience requirement may be negotiable for strong candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and potential.
* You're interested in criminal and traffic law and want to build depth in client-facing legal work.
* You possess strong communication skills and the ability to lead conversations with empathy, clarity, and confidence.
* You bring life experience and ideally some background in sales, intake, or customer-facing roles.
* You're organised, outcome-focused, and take pride in the quality of your client interactions.
