An outstanding opportunity has arisen with a leading ASX-listed organisation for a commercial and technically strong Senior Commercial Analyst to join a high-performing finance team supporting a significant portfolio of operational and project-based activities.
This role sits at the intersection of commercial finance, financial modelling, business partnering and operational decision support. Working closely with senior operational leaders, you will play a key role in providing financial insight, challenging assumptions, improving forecasting accuracy and supporting critical business decisions.
This is a highly visible position where your ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful commercial outcomes will directly influence project performance and business strategy.
The Opportunity
Key responsibilities include:
* Partnering with operational leaders to evaluate project performance, business cases and commercial opportunities
* Developing and maintaining complex financial models, forecasts and scenario analysis
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities
* Analysing project profitability, cash flow performance and financial outcomes
* Leveraging advanced Excel, Power Query and reporting tools to manipulate, analyse and interpret large data sets
* Delivering meaningful reporting, analysis and recommendations to support decision making
* Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, systems and business processes
* Educating and influencing non-finance stakeholders to strengthen commercial decision making across the business
About You
You will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and solving business problems through data, analysis and insight.
Candidates may come from backgrounds including:
* Commercial Finance
* FP&A
* Finance Business Partnering
* Management Accounting
* Project Finance
* Property or Infrastructure Analysis
* Development Finance
To be successful, you will demonstrate
* Advanced Excel capability, including financial modelling and scenario analysis
* Strong experience with Power Query and/or Power Pivot
* A well-developed understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow principles
* Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis
* The ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
* Strong commercial acumen, curiosity and problem-solving capability
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Exposure to property, infrastructure, construction, engineering or project-based environments will be highly regarded, though is not essential.
