Operations Manager – Stapylton Depot

About the Role
JJ's Waste & Recycling is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our Stapylton depot team.
You will oversee a dedicated team of 25+ employees managing bulk solid and liquid waste transport and logistics across QLD.
Key Responsibilities
Champion a safe and respectful workplace while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Lead a team including 2 Operations Supervisors, a Leading Hand, and 25+ drivers/operators.
Manage day-to-day fleet scheduling for local solid waste linehaul and transfer stations.
Support scheduling for long-distance bulk oil transport.
Foster strong relationships with customers, drivers, and disposal outlets to maintain high service standards.
Drive employee engagement, performance management, and incident investigations.
Oversee training programs in partnership with depot trainers.
Deliver regular team briefings.
Assist with fleet safety and compliance management under NHVAS certification.
Work Monday-to-Friday with occasional after-hours support.
About You
Proven experience in logistics or operations management.
Strong leadership and time-management skills.
Ability to motivate and manage teams focused on performance and efficiency.
Adaptable and customer-focused.
Knowledge of BFM, NHVAS, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance.
Heavy vehicle driving experience is a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
