What is the role? Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for managing and coordinating maintenance staff and activities within the Maintenance Department.
This includes, but is not limited to, installing, inspecting, testing, repairing, adjusting, and calibrating all plant equipment and instrumentation.
The role involves planning and conducting major outages, implementing, and directing an effective preventive maintenance (PM) program and lubrication plans.
What you will be doing? Please see below a brief overview of the role and responsibilities:Manage and direct a team comprising Mechanical Engineers, E, C&I Technicians, and Mechanical Technicians to maintain the functionality of the plant, in accordance with safety and maintenance standards and procedures.Analyse and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Provide leadership for all mechanical and I&C maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, corrective, emergency, contracted, and warranty services.Select and implement service agreements with approved service providers for maintenance of critical assets.Prepare, authorise, and schedule work orders for equipment repair and maintenance.Develop, maintain, and implement maintenance, operating, and emergency procedures.Maintain and enforce all environmental compliance, safety, and health requirements, policies, procedures, and rules, ensuring conformance to statutory requirements.
Desirable qualifications & competencies BSc in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Facilities, Industrial, or related to power generation.In-depth knowledge of welding, electrical design, maintenance, repair issues, and instrumentation/control systems.At least 1 year of experience managing budgets in a power plant environment.Maintain a positive attitude and manage stressful situations professionally.Contribute to a positive team spirit and enhance plant morale.IT literate.Treat people with respect and work ethically and with integrity at all times.
