Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) Neonatal Services
Launceston General Hospital is a major teaching hospital in Tasmania, providing comprehensive care for women and children. Women and Children's Services deliver maternity services for approximately 1600 births per year.
* Leads and coordinates neonatal care within Neonatal Services in accordance with best-practice principles and a collaborative multidisciplinary framework.
* Manages the resources of Neonatal Services to achieve agreed service outcomes.
* Monitors, manages and reports on the Neonatal Service Key Performance Indicators.
Nurse Unit Managers are accountable for leading teams and making strategic decisions to ensure high-quality patient care. They work closely with healthcare professionals to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
What You'll Do:
1. Lead and Coordinate Teams: Manage the day-to-day operations of Neonatal Services, ensuring effective teamwork and communication among staff members.
2. Maintain Quality Standards: Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
3. Analyse and Report Data: Collect, analyse and report data on Neonatal Service performance indicators to inform decision-making.
A Nurse Unit Manager must have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members to achieve their best. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential for this role.
