The roleAs the Process Engineer, you are responsible for optimising the performance of the cement mills to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and environmental performance while minimising production costs.ResponsibilitiesMaintain optimal finish milling performance by optimising mill airflow, 45 micron, surface area, and mineral addition control.Monitor and maintain plant performance by investigating and troubleshooting production issues, implementing appropriate solutions.Identify process improvement initiatives.Plan and oversee down day maintenance activities.Collaborate with the Technical team on energy reduction projects.Provide guidance on day-to-day process adjustments to optimise plant performance.Implement initiatives and control milling processes to optimise campaign strategies.Lead root cause analysis of stoppages and process excursions.Review proposed plant modifications and recommend approvals.Identify and implement safety, productivity, efficiency, waste elimination, and cost improvement opportunities.Work with Sales & Marketing to explore product development opportunities.What you will need to succeedDegree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent Metallurgical Processing qualification.Experience in heavy industry processing.Desirable: Experience in cement or lime manufacturing.An inquisitive mind with enthusiasm to learn and lead.Ability and desire to work collaboratively within a team.5+ years of experience is desirable but not essential.Our businessAdbri Cement, formerly known as Adelaide Brighton Cement, has a history dating back to 1882 and is a leading manufacturer of cement, lime, and pre-packaged dry blended products in South Australia.As a fully owned entity of Adbri, a company specializing in construction materials and industrial minerals, we employ over 1500 people nationally and provide products vital for a low-carbon economy transition.Creating and supporting a safer and diverse workforceAdbri Cement prioritizes safety and values diversity, recognizing that it fosters innovation and creativity.
