Senior Tax Dispute Resolution Specialist
KPMG Law's national tax dispute resolution and controversy team offers comprehensive services to help organizations and individuals prepare for, manage, and resolve tax disputes while maintaining a positive working relationship with revenue authorities.
The team is comprised of experienced specialists who have extensive knowledge in tax law and dispute resolution. They work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and provide tailored advice to ensure the best possible outcomes.
As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex tax disputes, including audits, objections, and litigation. You will also collaborate with other specialists across KPMG Law and KPMG to develop your written and oral advocacy skills and provide legal advice on taxation law and administrative law.
The role involves:
* Preparing clients for risk reviews, audits, and disputes with revenue authorities
* Working on complex ATO audits, preparing objections, briefing counsel, and advising clients on ATO Risk Reviews, Audits, Independent Reviews, and tax litigation
* Developing written and oral advocacy skills through collaboration with other specialists
* Providing legal advice on taxation law and administrative law

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Dispute Resolution Specialist to join our national tax dispute resolution and controversy team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality advice and support to clients on tax dispute resolution and controversy matters.
Responsibilities
• Provide expert advice on tax dispute resolution and controversy matters to clients, including preparation for risk reviews, audits, and disputes with revenue authorities
• Work collaboratively with other specialists across KPMG Law and KPMG to develop written and oral advocacy skills and provide legal advice on taxation law and administrative law
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery of services
• Identify and prioritize opportunities for business growth and development within the tax dispute resolution and controversy practice
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 10 years' experience in corporate tax, international tax, tax law, and/or tax dispute resolution and controversy in either an advisory or Big 4 professional services firm, a law firm, or the Australian Taxation Office
• Proven track record of managing multiple and concurrent complex projects, often through strong collaboration with cross-divisional/subject-matter specialists
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong understanding of tax law and dispute resolution principles
