**About the role**
We are seeking a Financial Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. Key responsibilities of the role are:
- Monitor and understand the existing financial data lifecycle (including ETL and data warehouse processes) to resolve data exceptions in a timely manner.
- Understand and utilise functionality across the Power Platform and Azure Data Services to improve data processes and deliver reporting and analytical solutions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Power BI datasets and reports for the provision of accurate and timely financial data.
- Interact with business areas to understand and package data requirements into comprehensive dashboard and reporting solutions.
- Act as a technical data steward to ensure quality financial data for internal and external clients.
- Maintain and extend the usage of Microsoft Purview for improved data governance and cataloging within the organisation.
**Your skills and experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, Information Technology, or other relevant discipline.
- Proficient in SQL with proven hands-on experience.
- Proven experience using the Microsoft Power Platform (particularly Power BI and Power Automate).
- Some experience using Microsoft Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Azure DevOps).
- Some experience using either Python or R.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and data governance principles are highly regarded
- Excellent data modelling and dashboard design skills.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Prior experience with financial markets data is desirable.
