Fortitude Valley State Secondary College opened in 2020, and currently caters for students in Years 7 to 10. Teachers coming into a new school workplace need to have exceptional relational skills, be driven to build a positive, welcoming and supportive school culture and be willing and able to commit to the school's development and growth.
This is a unique opportunity and requires a strong work ethic and a willingness to embrace change. Teachers are key in achieving our vision and we are deeply passionate about capable and confident people who can maximise outcomes for students.
We value bold, resilient and kind individuals who are willing to take risks, constantly asking 'how can this be done better?' and "what's next?'
With direct access to QUT's resources, technology, progressive research and academics as mentors and critical friends teachers should be prepared to work collaboratively with QUT and look for ways to develop the collaboration even further.
Teachers must be able to 'think outside the box' to deliver innovative learning experiences through a contemporary curriculum design aligned with ACARA. More information about the curriculum at FVSSC can be accessed here.
Please note that the campus does not have on-site parking for staff. Applicants will need to consider options for public transport or paid parking facilities. The area is well-serviced by public bus and rail and the school includes end-of-trip facilities (showers, lockers and bicycle storage).
