About the Role
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team in Devonport. This full-time position is responsible for managing the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments, ensuring financial data is recorded correctly, and supporting the Finance Manager with reporting, process improvement, and compliance activities.
This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our finance function while working closely with suppliers and colleagues across Petuna's sites.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Manager, key duties include:
* Entering and matching supplier invoices to purchase orders.
* Preparing and processing supplier payments through the online banking facility in an accurate and timely manner.
* Maintaining and verifying Business Partner information as per company processes.
* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
* Liaising with purchase order creators regarding aged purchase orders and goods receipted without invoices.
* Supporting the automation of Purchasing/Accounts Payable systems.
* Assisting with financial reporting, audits, and ad hoc analysis.
* Maintaining documentation, records, and process improvements.
* Providing general administrative support within the Finance team.
About You
You will be detail-oriented, organised, and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have:
* Proven experience in accounts payable or a finance-related role (5+ years desirable).
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Experience with SAP (desirable).
* Qualifications in business administration or a related field (desirable).
