About the role
Sittella Winery and Restaurant is seeking an exceptional Head Chef to lead and manage the kitchen operations at our renowned winery and restaurant – since 1998, located in Herne Hill / Swan Valley, Western Australia. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary aspects of the business, from menu development to team leadership, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
Candidates must have valid Australian work authorisation at the time of application.
What you'll be doing
* Develop and implement innovative seasonal menus showcasing the best of local produce and reflecting the restaurant's unique identity.
* Manage and lead a talented team of chefs, providing mentorship and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
* Maintain strict quality control standards, monitoring food preparation and presentation.
* Collaborate with the front‐of‐house team to ensure seamless service and an exceptional dining experience for guests.
* Budget and inventory manage to optimise kitchen efficiency and profitability.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and food hygiene regulations.
What we're looking for
* Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high‐calibre restaurant or winery environment.
* Proven track record of leading and developing a skilled culinary team.
* Exceptional culinary skills, with a deep understanding of contemporary Australian cuisine and a commitment to using fresh, local ingredients.
* Demonstrated experience in Modern Australian cuisine.
* Strong business acumen, including budget management, inventory control and cost‐saving initiatives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with front‐of‐house staff.
* Passion for food and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience.
