We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Manager to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in managing our legal resources, ensuring sustainable workloads and strategic use of legal expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert legal advice on major workstreams or complex investigations and litigation that have sector-wide implications and/or reputational risk for the organization
* Oversee the team's legal outputs, ensuring advice is consistent and balances risk appropriately, including identifying sensitivities and the broader context
* Build and maintain positive engagement with stakeholders, including line areas, corporate teams, and external stakeholders
* Drive cross-branch collaboration, including improved ways of working and resource management across the Legal Group
Requirements:
* A minimum of 10 years' experience as a senior practitioner, preferably in one or more areas of the organization's functions and responsibilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate effectively
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with line area or corporate teams to achieve outcomes for the organization
* The ability to quickly distill and explain key legal issues in challenging and complex scenarios
* Demonstrated success in leading a team and achieving business outcomes
* An admission as a practitioner, however described, of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory, with a current Australian practising certificate
