Role Overview
The Compliance Officer is a critical position that ensures adherence to relevant legislation, local laws, and council policies within the municipality.
This role requires close collaboration with various teams, including Statutory Planning, Building Services, Environmental Health, Project Services, Asset Management, Governance, and Customer Service.
As a key member of the Statutory Services/Compliance stream, the incumbent supports animal management, local laws, parking control, and school crossing supervision among other compliance functions.
The role upholds Council values, the Victorian Public Sector Code of Conduct, and operates within the Council's delegations, authorisations, and prosecution guidelines.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
* Providing high-level compliance services to the community through education, monitoring, and enforcement activities
* Supporting animal management, local laws, parking control, and school crossing supervision
