Surveyor Position
We are seeking a skilled Surveyor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a strong pipeline of works, with active projects across Sydney's Northwest and Southwest, as well as the Hunter and Illawarra regions.
As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring daily site works are carried out in line with the construction program and our company standards. You will perform accurate construction survey set-outs, including pegging, levels, and creation of survey models.
You will also review project status with the Site Manager and Project Manager, identifying risks, variations, and opportunities for improvement. You will interpret project specifications and drawings before works commence, ensuring compliance and readiness on-site.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring daily site works are carried out in line with the construction program and company standards
* Performing accurate construction survey set-outs, including pegging, levels, and creation of survey models
* Reviewing project status with the Site Manager and Project Manager, identifying risks, variations, and opportunities for improvement
* Interpreting project specifications and drawings before works commence, ensuring compliance and readiness on-site
* Collaborating with the site team to resolve design clashes, confirm constructability, and provide practical solutions where issues arise
* Supporting operators and crews by clearly communicating set-out information through toolbox talks, GPS guidance, or onsite mentoring
* Verifying survey and design information against the latest consultant updates and maintaining GPS/UTS equipment to ensure accuracy
* Championing continuous improvement of surveying processes and contributing to a safe, professional, and collaborative site environment
Required skills and qualifications include:
* Diploma or Certificate in Surveying
* Demonstrated experience in surveying, including engineering surveys, set-out, control, and GPS surveys
* Proficiency with survey technologies such as total station, GPS set-out, drones, Propeller, and 12D modelling
* Ability to create and manage accurate site-specific survey models for construction teams
* Strong capability in reading and applying construction drawings, with sound understanding of digital data workflows
* Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to support and mentor others
* Adaptability to new survey technologies and a commitment to continuous improvement
* Strong commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality standards and practices
* A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use initiative
* Great communication and organisation skills, including strong attention to detail
* Strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve
* The ability to be computer savvy, including the use of CRM-based applications and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
