Your role within Social and Affordable Housing Growth will support the department to drive and implement new investment opportunities in partnership with the community housing sector and other partners to deliver new social and affordable housing supply across Queensland. Strategic Precincts and Projects is a new team delivering precinct renewal strategies, major projects, and other programs to deliver innovation and accountable program development and management for the Department's investment in housing and homelessness services. We work collaboratively with not-for-profit, for-profit and government partners to achieve a more effective and integrated service system and improved long-term outcomes for clients requiring housing and homelessness assistance.
You will provide efficient, professional, and confidential support to the Executive Director.
What You Will Be Doing
* Keep abreast of current issues which may impact on Strategic Precincts and Projects and report findings to the Executive Director.
* Quality check correspondence, submissions, briefing notes and reports and provide advice to business areas where change is required and seek ways for continuous improvement.
* Actively review and manage work priorities and deadlines and manage and respond to emails on behalf of the Executive Director, Strategic Precincts and Projects.
* Screen incoming calls and effectively manage queries and redirect calls to relevant business areas where appropriate.
* Coordinate and manage administration support activities across Strategic Precincts and Projects, including quality assurance processes for correspondence, meeting papers and briefs, travel and itinerary arrangements and corporate card reconciliations.
* Establish and maintain positive working relationships within the Offices of the Deputy Director- General and Director-General and other service areas of the department, other State Government agencies and external stakeholders.
* Support the executive team with budget administration and human resource management across the team.
* Provide direction and guidance to the Executive Assistant on executive support and general administrative tasks.
* Contribute at a high-level to a culture of client service, excellence, and continuous improvement.
* Actively participate in the delivery and coordination of the unit's business functions and undertake strategic projects as required.
* Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
