Overview
Central Earthmoving is one of Western Australia's most respected civil construction contractors, known for our commitment to quality, safety, and our people. Working closely with the Project Manager, the SPE will play a critical leadership role in planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale civil construction works, ensuring outcomes that are safe, compliant, and commercially successful. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the success of a major regional infrastructure project while developing future engineering talent and reinforcing Centrals' standing as a contractor of choice across Western Australia. The role is on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering planning and delivery of project works in line with contractual, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Develop construction programs, schedules, and procurement strategies to meet project timelines.
Monitor performance against KPIs across cost, schedule, and quality metrics.
Manage technical clarifications, variations, and contract administration in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring to Project, Site, and Graduate Engineers, including performance reviews and development planning.
Oversee project cost control, tracking actuals against budgets, and assist with financial reporting.
Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Ensure ongoing compliance with HSEQ requirements, conduct risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture.
Support ongoing reporting, forecasting, and productivity tracking in line with Centrals' project management systems.
About You
You are a seasoned and solutions-focused Project Engineer with a strong background in civil construction. You excel in remote site environments and bring a collaborative, safety-first approach to achieving successful project outcomes.
To be successful in the role, you will have the essential qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction, with 10–15 years preferred.
Proven ability in project financials, cost control, and subcontractor management.
Familiarity with WHS, quality, and environmental management systems.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a commitment to team development.
Advanced planning, scheduling, and resource coordination abilities.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
High attention to detail, organisation, and commercial awareness.
