Job Opportunity: Rural and Regional Youth Worker
We are seeking a skilled Rural and Regional Youth Worker to join our team in providing treatment and rehabilitation services to torture and trauma survivors. The ideal candidate will have a strengths-based approach, empowering people and communities to take control over their own lives.
Main Responsibilities:
* Work with children and young people from refugee backgrounds, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
* Liaise with the wider school community to organize and participate in youth-focused activities, promoting social cohesion and cultural awareness.
* Develop and deliver training programs that cater to the diverse needs of refugee communities, enhancing their capacity for resilience and well-being.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as social work or psychology.
* Significant experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those from refugee backgrounds.
* Demonstrated proficiency in bi-lingual communication, speaking a community language relevant to refugee communities.
* Excellent group work skills, with the ability to facilitate interactive and engaging sessions.
