You will be expected to assist others in the performance of their duties, and to undertake the more complex and/or onerous duties associated with day-to-day processing of matters in the registry or courtroom. Your role is also responsible for modeling professional and ethical behavior and being committed to personal development.
You will be responsible for ensuring policies and procedures, use of court technology and systems used in the Magistrates Court are understood and followed.
This role reports to a Deputy Registrar Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the registry and Courts. This includes performing your duties in court as a Bailiff in the District Court and as a Court Services Officer in the Magistrates Court.
- Comply with administrative systems and processes relating to the operation of the court and registries (including receipting of money) to ensure the delivery of quality services to relevant clients and stakeholders;
- Prepare, process and manage correspondence, court documents and other documents of an administrative/financial nature in accordance with legislation and departmental policies and procedures in a timely and accurate manner;
- Develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships, and confidentially communicate with key stakeholders including members of the judiciary and their staff, other government agencies, self-represented litigants and the general public regarding matters before the Queensland Courts;
- Use, update and monitor relevant databases and files in line with departmental guidelines to ensure accuracy of data and confidentiality;
- Provide appropriate information to members of the public and other internal and external stakeholders about court and registry services, court rules, practices and procedures;
- Assist to review and develop service improvements with regard to processes and procedures;
- Assist with the supervision and mentoring of staff, readily sharing knowledge and experience to ensure their understanding of court systems and processes to facilitate the efficient operation of the registry;
- Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Registrar.
