Mine Control Superintendent
ConsMin produces some of the world's highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Our ConsMin Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407 kms south‑east of Port Hedland. Responsibilities
* Build and manage the Mine Control team, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to dispatchers, supervisors, technicians, and specialists.
* Fleet Management System – influence, implement, and oversee the approved mining plan through effective use of the fleet management system, coordinating pit activities, fleet allocation, and real‑time optimisations to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
* Promote proactive safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards across all fleet operations.
* Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as fleet availability, utilisation, and material movement, reporting on efficiencies and recommending improvements.
* Collaborate with mine operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate fleet management data into broader site strategies, including integration with systems like Wencomine for dynamic dispatching and production tracking.
* Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to review system performance and discuss improvement initiatives.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as updating fleet management system configurations and adopting mining and fleet management best practices.
* Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to support fleet management hardware and software maintenance.
Requirements
* A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Operations Management, or relevant experience in the mining industry. Advanced certifications in fleet management system / mine control technologies preferred.
* 7+ years of experience in mining fleet management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
* Proven expertise in FMS platforms (Wencomine preferred, MineStar or Modular acceptable), including system configuration, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
* Strong understanding of open‑pit mining operations and safety regulations.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work FIFO from Perth.
* Applicants must be able to pass a full pre‑employment medical, provide a clean NPC dated within the last 6 months (or able to obtain) and provide valid references.
