About the Role
The Panthers Group has exciting opportunities for a dedicated and hardworking Commis Chef to join their enthusiastic and busy kitchen teams.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Commis Chef to join our dedicated team in our fast-paced kitchens. You will enjoy working in an energetic kitchen team that prides itself on presenting quality food to our customers. We have multiple outlets with different offerings, all providing amazing quality food for every occasion. Reporting to the Outlet Sous Chef, you will flourish in a fast-paced kitchen environment and have the ability to work efficiently and pro-actively.
Responsibilities
* Food preparation, presentation, service working in multi outlet kitchens;
* Daily kitchen preparations for your section, ie: Tapas kitchen, Cafe or events
* Use a variety of cooking using grills, pans, cold larder and fryers;
* Prepare mise-en-place as per outlet chef direction;
* Cleaning the kitchen area after each service period and ensuring that the kitchen is well presented;
* Stock checking of food deliveries and ensuring the safe storage of products ie: FIFO;
* Completing daily kitchen cleaning checklists to ensure a safe and hygienic workplace.
Qualifications
* Minimum 1 year post-apprenticeship working as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment;
* Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery;
* Food Safety Certificate;
* Fantastic written and verbal communication skills;
* Passion for the hospitality industry and desire to develop and grow at Panthers
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard recipe and food presentation cards;
* Ability to work under pressure and problem solve and;
* Ability to work well unsupervised.

You will be punctual, have a strong work ethic and a positive and happy attitude to work. You are required to be flexible and reliable as you may be required to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
