Veterinary Surgeon - Emergency and Critical Care
We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Canberra. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our ECC service.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in veterinary surgery, preferably with experience in emergency and critical care. You will be a skilled communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and patients, and possess excellent clinical skills, including diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities.
About the Role
* Provide emergency consultations, primary care, and ongoing management of hospitalized specialist referral patients after hours.
* Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless case collaboration and holistic patient care.
* Participate in the development of our ECC service, including clinical governance, quality improvement, and continuing education.

* Full in-house laboratory (CBC, biochemistry, blood gas, coags, SediVue).
* IDEXX Extended Internal Medical Specialist Consultation Services after hours.
* Advanced imaging: digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, 64-slice CT, and high-field MRI.
* Three dedicated surgical suites, eight consulting rooms, and a dedicated grieving room.
