As an Applications Engineer, you will be supporting Defence clients through the design, integration, sustainment and evolution of application-based systems.
The role operates within high-assurance Defence contexts and requires strong technical capability, systems thinking and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, infrastructure and security domains.
Position Summary
The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership across the application lifecycle within Defence environments. You will assess existing application landscapes, design and develop future-state solutions, and support integration with broader ICT systems. The role spans requirements definition, solution design, vendor engagement, implementation support and technical assurance. You will engage closely with Defence stakeholders, program teams and vendors to ensure application solutions are secure, resilient and aligned to operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
The Applications Engineer will provide reporting of current system applications and systems applications in related projects. Lead in designing and developing requirements for the lifecycle of applications and systems. Working within the team this Engineer will work with vendors to assess vendor products, incorporate to the overall design and assist in implementation and technical resolution.
* Provide reporting of current system applications and systems applications in related projects
* Lead in designing and developing requirements for the lifecycle of applications and systems. Evaluate and Identify candidate software to meet the requirements.
* Evaluate and Identify candidate software to meet the system lifecycle requirements
* Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system
* Identify, analyse, and resolve program support deficiencies.
* Work with vendors to assess vendor products, incorporate to the overall design and assist in implementation and technical resolution
* Convert business and technical requirements into integrated and automated technology solutions
* Deliver system design artefacts including but not limited to High Level Designs, System Configuration, Quality Assurance Plans, Build Guides including Scripts or Playbooks and Standard Operating Procedures
* Provide Technical Assurance including Objective Quality Evidence, Training Material assessment and Judgements of Significance
