 
        
        Position DetailsPart -Time 0.4 FTE | ContinuingHigher Education Officer Level 5 | $82,657 - $91,222 p.a. pro rataLocation: Bedford Park / Kaurna CountryView Position DescriptionAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Technical Officer (Midwifery Simulation Focus) to support high-tech, hands-on training in our state-of-the-art simulation laboratories. 
Working closely with academic and clinical teams, you will help create realistic healthcare scenarios that prepare students for real-world practice in hospitals, surgeries, and other clinical environments. 
The role is responsible for setting up and maintaining the clinical skills labs for midwifery workshops for students, ensuring equipment and environments are ready for simulation-based learning.Providing technical advice and assistance during Midwifery practical classes including demonstration of equipment, procedures and techniques as required.Assume the functional responsibilities of the Team Leader and/or Laboratories Manager in their absence.Maintain, monitor and supervise stock control for smooth operation of all programs.Ensure that maintenance requirements are followed in accordance with relevant policy and legislationPlease refer to the attached position description, for a comprehensive list of roles and responsibilities.About YouYour previous experience in a hospital or midwifery teaching laboratory environment, will prepare you for working with new and emerging simulation technologies within a high-tech simulation lab.Your ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues as well as various internal and external stakeholders, is evident in your collaboration with manufacturers, and industry partners, ensuring minimal disruption to the students' learning when maintenance support is required.In this role you will also be able to demonstrate:Ability to work independently, with limited supervision or as part of a teamUse of initiative, with ability to prioritise work and problem solve to meet competing deadlinesKnowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, including risk managementHigh level of attention to detail and organisational skills, with a willingness to work flexiblyEligibility for registration as a registered midwife with Ahpra and possess a current practicing certificate or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and training relevant to the position.College of Nursing and Health SciencesAt the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, we aim to be an innovator in contemporary education producing a safer and more resilient health and social care workforce.
