Unique Role in Remote Locations
Work with Central Australian Retrieval Service, covering 1.6 million square kilometres and performing 800 fixed wing and road retrievals per year.
You will see challenging medicine including severe sepsis, major trauma, complex medical patients, paediatric patients, obstetric emergencies, and psychiatric emergencies.
The service is based at Alice Springs Hospital, providing a unique opportunity to work in the Medical Retrieval and Consultation Centre (MRaCC).
We offer weekly paid teaching and the opportunity to contribute towards research, audit and service improvement projects.
Be part of a team that provides critical care treatment in remote nurse only clinics before transport.
Opportunities exist for February 2026 and August 2026.
Requirements:
* Advanced trainee in critical care training programme (ACEM, CICM, ANZCA, ACRRM, RACGP).
* Minimum experience in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, and Anaesthetics.
* Holds a valid driving licence and is medically fit to drive.
* Excellent communication and team working skills.
* Ability to work in complex cross cultural environments.
