We are looking for a passionate, skilled and efficient Cook to join our team at a 50-place long day care centre. We provide education and care for children aged from 0-5 years from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, for 50 weeks of the year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a wide range of nutritious meals and snacks for children, which reflect the nutritional and cultural requirements of the children within the scope of the National Quality Standards, and Centre's food policy.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide healthy and delicious meals and snacks for children, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
* Plan menus for children in the centre, considering specific dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural beliefs.
* Prepare a 6-week menu plan, including all food and beverages, and ensure cost-effective delivery of service.
* Maintain effective communication with food suppliers to ensure efficient ordering and delivering high-quality produce and service.
* Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic, adhering to health and safety standards required under the Food Act 2010.
* Maintain accurate records regarding food safety and financial management.
* Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
