Job Description
Border Bandag are currently seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join their teams in Wodonga, VIC.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess the following:
* Diagnose and detect mechanical faults in cars manually or by the use of computer diagnostic programs
* Examine vehicle parts to ensure that they are working perfectly
* Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined
* Maintain and repair vehicles for customers
* Perform air‑conditioning and basic auto electrical repairs
* Assist customers in carrying out routine maintenance on vehicles such as changing oil, lubricating frictional parts, tightening bolts and nuts, and tyre change and rotation
* Follow environmental sustainable work practices
* Help customers purchase quality car parts for replacement
* Replace damaged or worn‑out car parts
* Resolve mechanic inquiries and render advice on vehicle maintenance
* Ensure the safety of vehicles brought in for repair
* Maintain daily workshop housekeeping and safety reporting
* Test drive each vehicle after repair
Qualifications and Skills
* Certificate III Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
* Ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a trade‑qualified automotive technician
* Problem‑solving skills
* Aptitude for technical activities
* Ability to work in a team environment
