**Job Opportunity:**
We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Community Development Team. The successful applicant will provide expert advice, advocacy, and coordination of quality initiatives regarding:
- Community Planning
- Community Development
- Community Engagement
- Grants Programmes
- Other priorities as identified by the Executive Team
The role involves leading the team to work together with the community to facilitate, coordinate, co-design and implement community development initiatives which contribute to building a strong community, enhancing use of community facilities and services and improving social outcomes for residents.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the Community Development Team providing expert advice, advocacy, and coordination of quality initiatives.
- Establish effective partnerships with community groups, service providers and other key stakeholders to develop responses to community issues and opportunities.
- Develop and deliver community engagement strategies that foster collaboration, cooperation and facilitate strengths-based community development processes.
- Provide policy and planning advice, as well as strategic advocacy, on current and emerging community needs, priorities, aspirations and opportunities.
- Manage resources and finances, including financial reporting and budgeting procedures.
**Essential Requirements:**
- Degree qualification in Community Development, Social Sciences, Social Policy and Planning or other related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated substantial experience in community development practice and a commitment to community development principles.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop teams to successfully deliver outcomes and build a positive team culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, advocate, communicate persuasively, engage in active listening, build effective relationships, and facilitate strengths-based community development processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and initiate sustainable community focused solutions.
