* Are you a fantastic disability support worker?
* Availability for rostering of 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts
* $44.54 p/h weekdays after induction, plus salary packaging (pay less tax)
Are you looking for a support role with longer shifts and a consistent team environment? We are seeking experienced support workers who are passionate about making a real difference in someone's life to join our close-knit team supporting a young adult in a 2:1 support setting.
Our client is a friendly 20-year-old young man with a great sense of humour who enjoys the outdoors, but also values time at home. At times the role may involve behaviours of concern, so applicants must be confident working within behaviour support plans and are able to remain patient, regulated, and supportive during challenging moments. You will be trained in behaviour support strategies and expected to work within a trauma-informed and person-centred framework.
Support is provided in the client's own home and in the community, with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and maintaining a safe and predictable environment. Staff work closely together and follow established routines, care plans, and support strategies.
About us
We're a rapidly scaling, not-for-profit disability support provider that believes in positively transforming the lives of people with disability. In doing so, we aim to create the highest quality agency we can, ideally reshaping the sector as a whole.
This means we often do things differently. Since we began in 2015, we've made it our mission to examine every part of what a support provider does – from how we structure our teams, to how we recruit and roster, to how we ensure the highest quality support, to how technology acts as an enabler for all that we do.
Our clients tell us they notice this difference, and for many it's had a profound impact on their lives. Supporting more than 250 clients across metropolitan and regional Victoria and only continuing to grow, we want the people who join us to also believe disability support should enable a life of independence and dignity.
To do a great job, you'll need:
* Minimum 3 years' experience supporting people with behaviours of concern (BOC)
* Experience in personal care (showering and dressing) and domestic duties
* Experience in SIL, in-home support, or complex support environments preferred
* Enthusiasm and passion for supporting people with disabilities to live great lives.
* Have great patience and be willing to put in the time and energy to build rapport with our client
* Understanding of trauma informed care
* Willing to work with a care team approach and incorporate the guidance of professionals. This would include supporting our clients to undertake things like their physio programs, community access for example.
* Good judgement and common sense, listening skills, problem solving, a willingness to learn and a commitment to our values.
* Full drivers licence and be willing and comfortable with providing transport in your own vehicle sometimes (we reimburse you for costs)
**Please note - when you apply you will receive an email asking you for some further details - please look out for it!
As part of our recruitment process, certain checks will be undertaken with your permission, including an NDIS Worker Screening Check that you must have before you can start work.
We encourage all of our staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and current recommendations about vaccination can be found on ATAGI website.

A word about diversity and inclusion
At InLife, diversity and inclusion is part of our DNA. We celebrate the amazing differences we all bring to our work and we actively ensure that everyone feels safe and supported in our workplaces.
We welcome and encourage applications from everyone and our hiring decisions will never be based on things such as your gender identity, disability, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or cultural background - because they simply aren't relevant to doing an awesome job (and you are protected from this kind of discrimination under Australian law)
We also know that we continue to learn more about inclusion every day, so if there is something you think we could do differently to make InLife a place you could picture yourself working, we're all ears.
