Primary objective
This position provides effective administrative and financial support to the School of Sport Education NT from a base in the central office
in Darwin. The School of Sport Education NT (SSENT) Pathways program involves the planning and facilitation of school sport events at
both an Inter-Region (held in Darwin) and Interstate level.
Context statement
The School of Sport Education NT contributes to all young Territorians success at school and resilience in life by supporting school
programs with specialist guidance and peer coaching for Physical Literacy; offering engagement opportunities for students; and support
for educators and teachers from a diverse range of contexts. The School of Sport Education NT, through the School Sport NT Incorporated
Association also provides representative opportunities for students at inter region and interstate events and represents the Territory in
national and cross-jurisdictional Sport Education and Physical Literacy forums.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level administrative support for the School of Sport Education Pathways program including word processing, diary
management and coordination, travel, and accommodation arrangements.
2. Provide a range of administrative support services to staff of the SSENT such as managing travel arrangements, assisting with events,
organising and coordinate arrangements for meetings (including compilation of papers and associated catering requirements)
1. Responsible for accurately and timely receipting of all monies coming into the school.
2. Undertake data entry and retrieval of school data systems to ensure accurate maintenance of all manual and computerised student
records including ensuring the integrity and currency of the database.
5. Assist to establish and maintain close working relationships and networks with the students, their families, and other associated
stakeholders.
6. Work as part of a team in the delivery of early learning programs to meet the needs of the students, their families, and the community.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Ability in general office administration procedures and experience in the use of databases, spreadsheets, and general computer
software applications e.g. Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as general technical troubleshooting of common ICT errors or
demonstrated willingness to learn.
1. Ability to maintain good work ethic including confidentiality, punctuality, reliability and adhering to the delivery of own work to a
timeline.
1. Good interpersonal skills with sound oral and written communication to be able to communicate effectively with departmental officers,
clients and stakeholders via phone, email, face to face and online as required.
1. Ability to adapt to change, learn new skills and work under direction, as part of a team and individually as required.
2. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of or experience with the School of Sport Education NT Pathways program or sport management in general
2. Experience in the use of accounting software for data entry purposes
