**The Role**
We have an exciting opportunity in DSTG's newly-formed Platforms capability division, where we are seeking to grow our Enabling Services team across a number of key functions areas. These roles will provide you with the opportunity to work as a part of a small dynamic team within Defence Science & Technology Group (DSTG) and to work alongside some of Australia's leading edge scientists. Roles we are seeking to fill include:
- General administration - undertaking general administrative duties to support the Division
- Executive support - working collaboratively to provide specialist administrative and management support to the Executive team
- Workforce (personnel) administration - providing administrative support and policy guidance in recruitment and staff movements
- Facility and Security administration - assisting with routine maintenance and supervised escorting within secure facilities
Whilst our positions are located at Fishermans Bend VIC, you will work virtually across states as part of a multi-site team.
**About our Team**
Platforms Division is located across multiple sites to support the business and research functions of the Division. The Enabling Services team works collaboratively and strives for continual improvements in the way services are delivered to the Division. Team contributions are valued and important in fostering a learning culture that strives for continual improvement in a respectful and challenging way. The Enabling Services team provides the backbone that underpins science and technology research for the Division. They are responsible for Platforms Division's research infrastructure, research safety and security management, science information management and research ICT capability, and other specialist services to keep Platforms Division at the forefront of research and development. The Enabling Services team has a dedicated professional workforce located across Australia delivering to, and partnering with, Defence Science and Technology Group researchers.
- Work efficiently and effectively within a fast-paced environment;
- Have well-developed IT capabilities (i.e. MS Office suites, Sharepoint, Visio);
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills ;
- Have a proactive approach to problem solving;
- Identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations; and
- Have well developed interpersonal skills
In addition to the above, demonstrated experience in office administration and/or customer facing roles and capacity to interpret Australian Public Service policy is advantageous.
