Role Type: Full time role, working 6 months per year (March to August) for 3 years. Salary: $101,306 per annum plus superannuation.

The opportunity: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Research Nurse to join the SAEFVIC Research Team. Reporting to the Reporting Manager and Principal Investigator(s) of SAEFVIC, the Research Nurse will play a key role in delivering the Southern Hemisphere Nasal Influenza Flu Vaccine Effectiveness Study, along with other research activities as required.

This position commences in March 2026. The role will be FULL-TIME, for 6 months (Mar to Aug) per year for 3 years.

The role involves a wide range of clinical research activities, including participant recruitment, biological sample collection, questionnaire administration (face-to-face and telephone), data entry using REDCap, and utilisation of the RCH Electronic Medical Record (Epic).

What you'll do

* Recruit participants and obtain informed consent (phone and face-to-face)
* Collect biological samples (nasopharyngeal swabs, saliva, ± blood)
* Complete screening, enrolment, and case report forms
* Enter and manage data using REDCap and review records in Epic EMR
* Liaise with laboratory services, investigators, and research collaborators
* Contribute to research documentation, reports, and team meetings
* Conduct research in accordance with GCP, ethical, and safety standards

What you'll bring

* Bachelor of Nursing (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration
* Experience in paediatric and/or immunisation research or clinical research
* Experience in paediatric phlebotomy
* Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
* Experience consenting and recruiting participants
* Strong communication and computer skills (including REDCap)
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and under pressure
