Role Overview:
As a HR & Safety Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our people and ensuring our workplace is safe, compliant, and aligned with our robust team culture across our Queensland and Victorian locations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this dual-functioning role will be ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and is passionate about both people and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach, advise and support managers in people management activities and initiatives including recruitment/talent acquisition, succession planning, reward & recognition, professional development, performance management, Award interpretation, health & safety, remuneration and benefits.
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment process including HRIS, contract generation and onboarding
- Create and update general HR related policies, procedures and documents.
- Manage recurring HR programs and one-off HR projects.
- Manage Workers Compensation, injury and return to work plans
- Lead and manage training initiatives
- Deliver regular HR metrics and reporting
- Coordinate health and safety actions to foster a culture of safety across all aspects of the business and is audit ready.
- Responsible for promoting a safe workplace, providing training, and investigating incidents to improve overall safety.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field.
- You’ve got demonstratable HR & WHS experience within a dynamic operational environment. (preferably with companies with over 70 people).
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and WHS regulations.
- Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation and claims management.
- Able to build strong relationships and engage positively with operational & leadership teams
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills, a self-starter and a real owner of your role.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, autonomously.
- You have a high emotional IQ, someone who is resilient & adaptable
- Eager to travel between locations at least once a month.
