Job Title: Project Logistics Officer
Location: Perth
Reporting to: Business Development Manager
Job Overview:
Manage the smooth flow of cargoes from collection to delivery, including storage, shipping, clearance and distribution.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage logistics activities including transportation of specialized cargoes, over-dimensional and over-sized loads
- Managing relationship with various stakeholders, including clients, shippers, regulatory authorities, and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- In charge of negotiation with multiple contractors at every stage of transporting the cargoes.
- Plan, execute and coordinate various aspects of transportation, including permits, escorts, equipment, and scheduling
- Manage and oversee the strategic direction and coordination of distribution activities
- Responsible for the development and transformation of supply chain operations
- Assessing and mitigating logistics related risks, such as delays, damages, or security breaches
- Commitment to continuous improvements, learning and staying updated on the evolving industry trends and changes in regulations
- Operate within legal and ethical boundaries in Africa, must prioritize safety, environmental concerns, and adherence to regulations
- Strong focus on leadership and development of personnel, culture, efficiency, and costs.
- Quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions
- Lead and manage a team, including supervising drivers, dispatchers, and other personnel involved in the transportation process
- Maintain statistical data and reports as directed by your supervisor/manager
- Always conduct yourself in a professional courteous manner
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience with air and sea exports is essential, mining and project management experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of the remote setting in East Africa
- Have strong project management skills
- Good Negotiation skills
- Possess in-depth understanding of local, national, and international regulations related to oversized and overweight loads, including knowledge of permits, routing requirements, and restrictions.
- Be familiar with the technical aspects of transporting over-dimensional loads, such as securing methods, equipment requirements, and potential challenges to ensure safe transport.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Speak fluently the local languages, Swahili and Afrikaans.

Pay: $74,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
