About the Role
As our Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you'll play a hands-on role in championing safety and environmental excellence across the site. You'll lead the implementation of our Health & Safety program, ensuring compliance with legislation while working closely with our teams to create a safe, positive and engaged workplace.
Your responsibilities will include (but won't be limited to):
* Ensuring day-to-day compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation and regulatory bodies including WorkSafe VIC, EPA VIC and NHVR
* Conducting EHS audits and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Following up corrective actions and working alongside floor teams to embed safe work practices
* Educating and supporting employees through regular site walk-throughs, toolbox talks and safety audits
* Monitoring and reporting on incidents, hazards and environmental data
* Proactively identifying and managing key risks such as hazardous substances, plant safety and traffic management
* Investigating incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement practical, preventative solutions
* Supporting and guiding leaders to ensure safety recommendations are actioned and sustained

About You
You're a confident, proactive safety professional who enjoys being visible on the floor and working closely with people at all levels. You bring a practical, solutions-focused mindset and genuinely care about improving workplace safety and wellbeing.
You'll also bring:
* A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation
* The ability to develop procedures, reports and safety documentation
* Experience in data analysis, risk assessment and continuous improvement
* Excellent organisational, communication and motivational skills
* A minimum Diploma in OHS and Environmental Management
* Solid knowledge and experience in Return to Work (RRTW) processes
* Auditing certification or internal audit experience (highly regarded)
* A Construction Industry White Card
* Flexibility to travel intrastate/interstate as required (with notice and planning provided)
